Coast Guard wants three chemical response trailers for worldwide deployment
|
|
The U.S Coast Guard’s National Strike Force wants to procure three 20-foot box trailers which would serve as chemical response vehicles, carry 6-12 cylinders used with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and be able to be transported on a C-130 cargo plane to any destination in the world.
Initially, the trailers would be delivered to Coast Guard sites in Fort Dix, NJ; Mobile, AL; and Novato, CA.
A solicitation, which was issued on July 13, envisions a 100 percent small business set-aside contract and requires prospective small business suppliers to submit their proposals by August 13.
The Coast Guard’s specifications call for aluminum framed cargo trailers, white in color, containing two axles, whose bumper tow weight should not exceed 1,200 pounds. Each trailer would be equipped with a Kohler generator, two 12-volt batteries, inside and outside lighting, and a Bauer air compressor.
